28 bridges cross the notorious Rio Grande between Texas and Mexico, providing a gateway for legitimate goods and a lucrative pipeline for illegal contraband, weapons and drugs. Focus is on the South Texas border, primarily the Laredo ports of entry (Gateway to the Americas, Juárez–Lincoln, World Trade, Colombia–Solidarity and the Laredo Rail Bridge), with additional operations at the Brownsville–Matamoros and Hidalgo–Reynosa crossings.

Remains centred on Laredo but expands its coverage to include the Pharr and Progreso ports of entry alongside the recurring crossings in Laredo.
